INSTALLATIONANDFIXATION Pre-Installation: Allmaterialsanddocumentationrelevanttothisparticularsectionofworkswillbecheckedandverifiedensuringthatthesearecorrectandapprovedtype. Priortothecommencementofworks,ensurethattheareasforpermanentinstallationareready,accessibleandinsuitablecondition.Excavation: PermittoWork(PTW)shallberaisedfortheexcavationclearlymentioningthelocationofwork,sizeofexcavationandlevels. Excavationsareashallbesurveyedandmarkedtothelinesandlevelsasshownonthedrawings. Theareaofexcavationwillbecordonedoffusingsafetydevices. EnsuretheworkingareaatanyconfinedspaceisfreefromanyHazardousGasbyproperGastestingusingtheGastestinginstrument. Materials: Notnecessaryfortheconstructionshallberemovedcarefullyandstoredneatlyforreinstatingaftertheconstructionworks. Thematerialreceivedfromtheclientshallbestoredindesignatedareaofstore. Arrangementsshallbemadetoprotectagainsteffectsofweatherandenvironment. Pulling: Insulationresistanceofthecablesshallbecheckedbeforelayingcables. Afterthetest,theendofthecableshallbesealedtopreventtheingressofmoisture. 1.ocationofthepanels/equipmentshallbeidentified. Cablesshallbelubricatedifbendsinconduitsareencounteredinaruntofacilitatedrawingin.Cablesmustnotbebenttoaradiusoflessthan12timestheoveralldiameterofthecable. Rollersmustbeusedwherecablesareinstalledinanopentrenchusingapullingropeandeye;cablerollersaretobeusedatfrequentintervalstosupportthecablesandmustneverbemorethan3metersapart. Therollersaretobeplacedsecurelytopreventmovement. Thepullingropemustbeequippedwithaswivelandbeattachedtothecablebyastockinggripwithpullingeye. Thecabledrumintendedforcablepullingshallbeidentifiedasperthatindicatedinthedrumschedule. Thecabledrumsshallbeun-packedandplacedonacableroller,asrequired. Cablelayingwillgenerallystartfromoneendoftheroutelengthoratanysuitablepoint,asnecessary. Dependingontheweightandsizeofthedrum,suitablesizeofthecablerollingshaft(Spindle)shallbeplacedinsidethecentralaxisofthedrum. Suitablejacksshallbeplacedfirmlyonthegroundandjackeduptoallowclearancefromthegrounddependingonthesizeofthecabledrum. Thedrumshallbeliftedbyrequiredequipmentandplacedonthejacks. Thecabledrumwillbecorrectlypositionedandthedirectionofcablepullingasindicatedbyarrowonthedrumshallbecomplied. Thecableshallbedrawnintothetrenchsmoothlywithaminimumofstopsandatanaveragespeedofbetween9-12metersperminute,toavoidirregularmovement. Termination: Terminationpointinsidethepanels/equipmentshallbeconsideredforsuitablesparelengthtobeleftavailableduringpullingofcabletermination. AftercuttingthecabletotherequiredlengththeterminationworkwillbeconductedasperADDCStandard. JointingandTerminationwillbecarriedoutasperADDCstandards.Alljointingandterminationworkwillbecarriedoutbytrainedtechnicians,experiencedinsuchworkfortheoperatingvoltageconcerned. Propercrimpingtoolsshallbeusedcompressiontypelugs.Allcablesaretobeterminatedusedglandsofpropertypeandsizeasperareaclassification. Theglandshallbeassembledstrictlyinaccordancewithmanufacturer'sinstruction,particularattentionbeingpaidtoensuregoodmechanicalandelectricalcontactbetweenpartwithoutexcessivestrainordistortionofcable.
